On the positive side, I am getting better at setting up and taking apart my telescope! I'm also becoming more aware of how the moon moves across the sky (a month ago, all I really knew about the moon is that it's up there... somewhere...).
On the down side, I've experienced both a solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse in the past two weeks, but haven't succeeded in taking any pictures of either event. Both days were very overcast, and I'm still not very familiar with this equipment. Also, Venus is going to transit across the sun in two days (which won't happen again for another hundred years or so), and Tropical Cyclone #1203 is estimated to be directly overhead at that time.
